The 32nd Seoul Music Awards (SMA) ceremony was held on Jan. 19 at the KSPO Dome in Seoul.
K-pop boy band NCT Dream emerged as the biggest winner by taking home the “daesang” or grand prize.
This was the first time for NCT Dream to win the grand prize at SMA. Last year, NCT 127 won the grand prize.
BTS, who won the grand prize from 2017 to 2020, won the best album award for “Proof” while rookie girl group IVE won best song award for “Love Dive.”
A total of 16 artists won the “bonsang” (main prize). They are BTS, BLACKPINK, Seventeen, Lim Young-woong, Stray Kids, Kim Hojoong, NCT DREAM, (G)I-DLE, Psy, Got the Beat , Zico, Kang Daniel, IVE, Red Velvet, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Aespa.
The rookie award went to NewJeans, Le Sserafim and TNX.
