Gov. Aumentado happy to learn Bohol one of safest cities in PH

CEBU CITY -- Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado welcomed the inclusion of Bohol as one of the 10 safest cities in the Philippines.

A list released by a travel website showed that Bohol is one of only three places in the Visayas that are safe to visit.

According to travelsafe-abroad.com, the 10 safest cities in the country are Davao, Bohol, Baguio, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Makati, La Union, Palawan, Tagaytay and Valenzuela.

The travel website helps travelers identify places that are safe to visit.

Travelsafe-abroad.com itself said it is run by ‘a team of full-time travelers with a mutual goal – travel as much as possible!’

Providing safety tips and recommending travel gear are among the goals of the website.

“Bohol is another great place for those with an adventurous spirit. You can explore the Chocolate Hills and rainforests, hit the Danao Adventure Park, or go zip-lining, diving, sky-riding, river tubing, boat riding, and much more,” the website said in its review of the province.

The website added that Bohol is a go-to-place for beach lovers.

“And if you want to relax, there are some beautiful beaches for your pleasure,” the website said.

Travel-safe added that ‘Bohol just might be the safest area in the Philippines, with an overall crime index of just 7.14.’

Making it to the list is part of the Boholanos’ efforts to make the province peaceful, Aumentado said.

“We are happy to be told that our province is one of the safest places to be visited by tourists,” Aumentado said.

Aumentado said it should serve as an inspiration to all Boholanos to help keep the province peaceful.

“This is because of our efforts, helping each other to earn the trust of our visitors. Congratulations to all of us Boholanos,” said Aumentado.
