Woman nabbed in Antipolo police anti-illegal drugs op

A woman in Antipolo City was arrested Wednesday morning in a buy-bust operation by the police.

In a report obtained from the Rizal Police Provincial Office, Rizal Police Director, Col. Dominic Baccay identified the suspect as Melanie Grefaldo, alias Lala, 44, a resident of Antipolo City.

Antipolo chief of police Lt. Col. June Paolo Abrazado said the arrest of the suspect came as a poseur buyer was able to buy a sachet of shabu from the suspect on Kingsway Road, Hardrock, Antipolo City shortly after midnight on Jan. 18.

During the police operation, the operatives were able to seize four small sachets of suspected shabu weighing 20.30 grams and with an estimated value of P138,040.

The suspect is facing violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or Republic Act 9165.

Earlier in the week, the Rizal Police had arrested 124 individuals, 43 of which were involved in illegal drugs distribution while 21 were arrested for illegal gambling.
