CAMP OLA, Albay - Two attendees in a fiesta celebration were killed while two others were wounded after four gunmen attacked them for an unknown reason in Sitio Caguco, Brgy. Tinigban, Aroroy town in Masbate province on Monday afternoon, Jan. 16.
Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) spokesperson, identified the fatalities as Rene Ross y Roxas, 21, and Jhin Mark Rabosa y Ross, 39, while wounded victims were identified as Roy Virtucio y Cortes, 43, a barangay kagawad and Justine Ross y Ragot, all residents of Brgy. Tinigban, in Aroroy town.
The suspects were identified as Gary Verano, Nonoy Verano y Ferrer, Glen Marco y Limbaga and one unidentified suspect.
Initial investigation revealed that while the victims were attending the fiesta celebration at Sitio Caguco, Brgy. Tinigban, the suspects, armed with unknown caliber, shot the victims successively that resulted in the death of Rene Ross and Jhin Mark Rabosa and the wounding of barangay kagawad Virtucio and Justin Ross.
Police were still determining the motive in the gun attack, said Calubaquib.
The suspects fled and are still at large as of this writing while authorities are still conducting pursuit operations.
Wounded victims were brought to Aroroy Municipal Hospital, while the cadaver of Rene Ross and Jhin Mark Rabosa were brought to St. Lawrence Funeral Parlor for post mortem examination.
