Rural health unit worker, two back riders die in motorcycle crash in Pangasinan
BASISTA, Pangasinan -- An administrative aid in a rural health unit and his two back riders were dead on arrival in a hospital after they figured in a vehicular accident along national road in barangay Dumpay here on Tuesday, Jan. 17.
Police report said the incident happened around 12:50 a.m. as a red motorcycle driven by Ricky Seguin, 48, single, and an administrative aid in a rural health unit in Basista, stumbled as the driver tried to avoid a vehicle in front of him.
His back riders whose names were still to be identified also died in the accident. The victims were traversing the national highway and were heading in the north direction.
The driver tried to turn left but unfortunately they accidentally bumped an umbrella tree at the shoulder lane.
The three motorcycle riders who sustained severe head and body injuries were immediately brought to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City but were pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The victims were not wearing protective helmets.
Investigation was still ongoing to determine the identities of the two back riders.
