TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The Cagayan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and the Municipal DRRM Council of Santa Ana, Cagayan alerted residents that debris from China's Long March 7A may fall in the sea of the municipality.
Rueli Rapsing, PDRRMO officer-in-charge, said they have been ordered by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council to warn the people of Santa Ana about this development.
A report from the Cagayan Provincial Information Office said it is not certain where and how big the rocket debris is.
The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) had earlier issued a notice that one of the drop zones of the rocket debris is the ocean in Santa Ana and Burgos in the province of Ilocos Norte.
Rapsing urged the public, especially fishermen, not to touch and immediately inform authorities if they see any debris.
