Bacolod police receive eight motorcycle bikes from city gov’t


BACOLOD CITY -- The city government here has turned over eight brand-new motorcycle bikes to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) on Friday, Jan. 13.

Mayor Alfredo Abelardo ‘Albee’ Benitez led the ceremonial turnover at the Bacolod City Government Center, with Col. Thomas Joseph Martir, Bacolod City police director, Councilor Al Victor Espino, chairman of the Committee on Law and Ordinances, Atty. Caesar Distrito, and Barangay Tangub chairman Noli Villarosa gracing the occasion.

The motorcycles were purchased by the local government and were delivered here in December 2022.

Benitez said on a Facebook post that the motorcycles are the city government’s contribution to the police in their bid to intensify the monitoring of crimes, traffic, and road accidents among others.

Lt. Col. Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of Bacolod City police, said that it will be distributed to various police stations here, and the Mobile Patrol Unit to aid them during police response and patrolling.

Gabana said the Kawasaki Versys motorcycle bikes cost P500,000 each, totalling to P4 million.
