Senator Mark Villar on Monday, January 9 commended President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s administration for achieving another milestone as the latter facilitated the launching of the Metro Manila Subway Project's Tunnel Boring Machine.
Villar was among other government officials who attended the launching of the Subway Project.
“Today we witnessed another milestone in the Subway Project. This will kickstart the tunneling works for the subway project which will level up public transportation in our country," Villar said.
According to Villar, CP 101 of the Metro Manila Subway Project consists of the following stations; East Valenzuela Station, Quirino Highway Station, Tandang Sora Station and North Avenue station.
All of the said projects are ongoing.
“We appreciate all the efforts of PBBM (Marcos Jr.'s initials). We can see that the Build Better More Program is all systems go," he said.
"The Metro Manila Subway Project will definitely provide an accessible, affordable, comfortable, and safe travel for the Filipino people.”, Villar added.
Also, the President commended Villar and recognized him as one of the contributors to the success of the Mega Manila Subway Project.
Villar is former secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) DPWH.
“Senator Mark Villar has played a special role for us to come to this day as he was the former Secretary of the Department of Public Works and had a big hand in getting this project going and keeping it going so that we could continue it until its final fruition," the President said during the event.
The senator, in response, thanked the President for his confidence and support and vowed that he will help the Marcos administration realize its "Build Better More Program."
Other officials present in the launch were Senators Sherwin Gatchalian, Joseph Victor "JV" Ejercito, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, Rep. Rex Gatchalian, and Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie "Wes" Gatchalian.
Representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and other contractors, were also present at the launching.
