Kenny Rogers Roasters unveils products in larger-than-life 3D billboard along EDSA


There’s a new 3D advertisement in town, and it will make you crave and salivate for delicious, healthy, wholesome food

Imagine seeing a gigantic, juicy, Kenny Rogers Roasters roasted chicken along the southbound highway in EDSA. You’d be hard-pressed not to salivate and crave a juicy bite of that iconic dish.

Saying that a Kenny Rogers Roasters chicken is “iconic” may garner some disapproval from food aficionados, but I would say that the dish and restaurant has earned that title. The establishment has been in the country for decades, and I remember my halcyon days in the ‘90s eating out with the family after Sunday church in a Kenny Rogers restaurant.

In those days, Kenny Rogers did not have its current fast-food setup. Customer would wait to be seated, and waiters would get their orders. It was a great casual dining setup, and families from the ‘90s would attest to the great, juicy, roasted chicken served in Kenny Rogers.

Fast forward to 2023, Kenny Rogers is still going strong, as attested by marketing director Lorent Adrias. “We really want the year 2023 to be a year of innovation. We want to own innovation, not only in the way we produce new products, but also on how we advertise.”

The cities of Metro Manila are seeing 3D LED billboards popping up like mushrooms, but the venerable house of Kenny Rogers has chosen one of the biggest of these new electronic billboards as its home. As the organizers of the recent unveiling of the new 3D advert said, “Kenny Rogers Roasters will once again amaze customers with an unveiling of its products in its first ever larger-than-life and hyper-realistic billboard in 3D located in EDSA Mandaluyong.”

The 3D adverts will showcase four products in 3D effect, starting with the Kenny Rogers Roasters’ Roasted Chicken, the Baby Back Ribs on Brick Oven, and then move on the famed Signature Corn Muffins, and then end with the side dishes like the mac and cheese, steamed vegetables, fresh fruits, and the latest addition - the Spinach Mashed Potato.

HEALTHY DISHES

Adrias noted how the food industry is cluttered and highly competitive, and they need to do something to rise above the rest. The massive 3D advertisement along EDSA is their big answer to that challenge. He also shared to us their learnings doing business during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

“The pandemic was a great challenge for us, but we turned it around and took advantage of the situation,” said Adrias. “After COVID, a lot of people are now more health conscious. So we took note of that, found a gap, and chose to fill that void with the deliciously healthy dishes that we have.”

Kenny Rogers is well known for their roasted, not-deep-fried dishes, as well as for their salads and healthy side dishes.

Adrias also noted how the past two years of lockdown changed the industry, and how their company adapted and flourished during the lockdowns.

“We learned the power of delivery. We learned that now, you should not just wait for people to go to your store. You, the business, should go to them. The key word here is accessibility. Moving forward, we want the year 2023 to be the year of innovation, to make it ours, to own innovation. ”

He was also proud to say that Kenny Rogers Roasters did not close a single store during the COVID-19 lockdowns. “We fought hard to make sure that everybody gets to keep their job. We now have 111 stores as we speak, our most recent opening was in Davao City.”
