MB Daily News Update: PH jobless rate drops to 17-yr low

The number of jobless Filipinos dropped to its lowest since April 2005, which Malacañang attributed to the Marcos administration’s efforts to generate more jobs.

Fresh from his state visit to China, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his Chinese counterpart XI Jinping were able to discuss the maritime disputes at the West Philippine Sea with “mutual respect and sincerity”.

Activities leading to the Jan. 9 Fiesta of the Black Nazarene start on Saturday, Jan. 7, with the “Pagpupugay” at the Quirino Grandstand.

The Department of Health (DOH) said there was no need to panic over the Omicron subvariant XBB.1.5, which is being blamed for a recent surge in Covid-19 cases in the United States. However, the agency underscored that Filipinos should remain vigilant.
