BUTUAN CITY -- The regional command of Northeastern Mindanao Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) started the year with another triumph toward peace in the Caraga region as another official of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered.
Caraga PRO13 Regional Director Pablo G. Labra II explained that the reinforced efforts of the region to appeal to the CTG members who are still fighting with their false ideology resulted in a voluntary surrender of ‘Ka Oliver,’ 36. His true identity was temporarily withheld as debriefing is still ongoing.
Oliver is a supply officer of squad 1, Platoon 1 of the CPP-NPA North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC), and listed in the Periodic Status Report (PSR) of the second quarter of the year 2022, said Brig. Gen. Labra.
The CPP-NPA supply officer initially surrendered to PRO 13 Regional Intelligence Division (RID) on the first day of the year 2023 but he was officially presented on Monday, Jan. 2, here.
“The surrender of Ka Oliver on the first day of 2023 is a positive sight for all the blinded members of the doomed communist movement and we are optimistic that more will follow in his footsteps,” Brig. Gen. Labra said.
“I commend the efforts made by our police force in convincing our countrymen who were also victims of communist ideals to lay down their arms and choose a peaceful way of living,” the region’s top cop said.
Oliver is currently undergoing processing of requirements to avail the government's Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.
