Children advocacy group founder in Iloilo awarded as outstanding volunteer

ILOILO CITY -- An Ilongga was recently awarded as an outstanding volunteer for her work and advocacy for the children.

Gloria Concepcion Moralidad of Bata Ako PH was one of the 22 regional winners of the award jointly given by the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) and the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA).

Moralidad was cited for her programs in safeguarding and securing brighter futures for children as well as motivating the community to improve children’s lives.

“This will be for more initiatives, service time, and public policies for the Filipino children,” said Moralidad after receiving the award during the last quarterly meeting of the Regional Development Council (RDC-6) in Iloilo City in December 2022.

Over the years, Moralidad has been initiating activities both for children in the city and province of Iloilo.

Moralidad has used her work as a writer, illustrator and animator in several community engagements to protect and promote the children’s rights.

These included literacy programs and medical programs. Moralidad also reached out to the children who belong to indigenous people’s group Panay Bukidnon in the mountain village of Calinog town, Iloilo province.

“Through these programs, children can gain a love of learning that will stay with them throughout their lives,” said Moralidad.

“By working together, we can make sure that all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential,” added Moralidad.

Meanwhile, Moralidad assured more programs will come this year.
