Marcos, Duterte reveal 2023 resolutions: 'More sleep, family time'
As the country welcomed the new year, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte revealed their wishes for the year 2023, including having enough time for sleep for their families, and acquiring new skills.

The country's top leaders revealed these in a vlog uploaded to the President's YouTube channel and other social media pages late January 1.
In the video, the two leaders, clad in gray hoodies, were asked about their "personal new year's resolutions." Both agreed that they needed more than five hours of sleep.
"Makatulog ng mas mahabang oras. Paabutin ng eight hours ang tulog, 'wag lang five hours (To have a longer sleep. To sleep for eight hours, not just five)," Duterte, who answered the question first, said.
Marcos chimed in, saying he was already getting sick due to the lack of sleep.
"Kailangan matuto akong magpahinga dahil nagkakasakit na, hindi na dapat mangyari yun (I have to learn to rest because I'm already getting sick. That shouldn't happen anymore)," he said.
Aside from sleep, the President said he wanted to spend more time with his family this 2023.
"On an even more personal level, I would like to spend more time with my family," he said.
"Hindi na kami nagkikita, nami-miss ko na sila (We don't get to see one another anymore. I miss them)," he added.
Meanwhile, Vice President Duterte, who is also the Secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd), said she wanted to learn new skills, and that she plans to finish a short psychology course.
"Itutuloy ko yung aking short course sa psychology. Malapit na matapos yun ngayong February (I will continue my short course in psychology. I'm close to completing it this February)," she added.
When it comes to new skills, President Marcos said he was, fortunately, a voracious reader, as this lets him acquire much-needed new information.
"Araw-araw marami akong natutuhan sa trabahong ito. Mabuti na lang mahilig akong magbasa. Lagi akong nag-aaral ngayon (I learn many things in this job daily. It's a good thing I like to read. I'm learning a lot these days)," he said.
"Sa awa ng Diyos, nagagamit naman natin ang ating natutuhan para hindi mapanis ang ating pag-iisip (With God's grace, we're able to apply these learnings to our mind is not spoiled)," he added.
