Cop shoots 2 on New Year’s Day


CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – A policeman assigned to the Philippine National Police unit in charge of going after rogue policemen is facing charges for allegedly shooting two persons on New Year’s Day here.

A report from Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office said a drunk Patrolman Quibuyen, 35, assigned to the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group in Camp Crame, Quezon City, shot and wounded Arapat Pandodum, 26, and Salman Mama, 28.

The victims were taken to a hospital and now in stable condition.

Officer-on-case Staff Sgt. Giovanni Macayanan said the suspect has undergone inquest online. Quibuyen faces two counts of frustrated murder, Macayanan added.
