LTFRB mobilizes free shuttle services to stranded NAIA passengers heading to Clark

As the technical glitch on the air traffic management system at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is not yet fully operational, the national government said it will provide free shuttle services to airline passengers whose departure flights were rescheduled at the Clark International Airport.

The free shuttle service will be supervised by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for passengers who remain stranded at the NAIA but were advised that their flight take-off will be at Clark.

LTFRB Chairman Teofilo Guadiz III, they have already coordinated with transport operators in the National Capital Region and Region 3 to provide bus transportation services free of charge to the stranded passengers.

"The initiative is also being undertaken to protect passengers from certain taxis and Transport Network Companies (TNCs) that are taking advantage of the situation by jacking up their surge prices," said Guadiz.

"The LTFRB already dispatched teams from our Operations office to ensure proper coordination for the passengers' safe and easy transfer to Clark, and also to continue to monitor those taxis and TNCs said to be abusing the surge in prices,” he added.

Around 56,000 domestic and international airline passengers were affected due to technical glitch at the NAIA since Sunday morning which forced the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) to cancel, delay and divert 282 flights to and from NAIA.
