Police deny kidnapping of students in Cagayan

RIZAL, Cagayan – Police said no students were kidnapped here on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Major Magno Catubag Jr., chief of police here, denied that several students were taken in Barangay Rizal according to a Facebook Live post of a resident.

Catubag said that police went to the area to verify the post which was later deleted by the uploader after lawmen determined it to be bogus.

Police urged residents to be careful in posting or sharing unverified news and be responsible media users.

“Be cautious and think before posting or uploading information with a strong message of value,” police said.
