So impressed is Aklan 2nd district Rep. Teodorico Haresco Jr. with the display of competence the Marcos Cabinet officials have shown amid the House budget deliberations that he likened them to the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Haresco shared this observation to his colleagues in the House of Representatives on Thursday, Sept. 8 during the budget hearing of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Haresco is a vice chairman of Committee on Appropriations, which has been carrying out the all-important per agency budget deliberations that's very integral to the eventual passage of the proposed P5.268-trillion national budget for 2023.
"For the past four weeks Mr. Chair, we have had the budget briefings with so many departments," he said during his time for interpellation.i
"And as we can see Mr. Chair, ito na po siguro ang Golden State Warriors, ang Cabinet ni Presidente kasi halos lahat napaka-competent po ang kanilang experience and expertise (the President’s Cabinet may very well be the Golden State Warriors because almost everyone of them are competent, with experience and expertise to boot)," Haresco said.
He further called DOLE Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma, who attended the budget hearing, as his "idol".
The Golden State Warriors are the defending champions in the NBA. The team usually described as being laden with superstar players.
The Stephen Curry-led Warriors have won four NBA championships since 2015, including back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018.
As of Wednesday, the appropriations panel has terminated or concluded the budget deliberations of 17 out of the 34 departments, meaning they are halfway done with that phase of the budget process.
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is technically part of the Cabinet, being the temporary Department of Agriculture (DA) secretary.
