Michael de Mesa clarifies Cherie Gil is not buried in Bukidnon

Veteran actor Michael de Mesa said recently that he and his family felt the need to clarify details about Cherie Gil's burial following "misinformation."

On Instagram, he noted that his sister was cremated in New York and the latter's remains are with their sister Elaine in California.

"Part of her is with my parents who are also in California and some are here with my wife and I," he shared.

Michael also cleared that though Bukidnon was Cherie's "favorite" place, she is not buried there.

"Some of her ashes were just scattered there," he pointed out.

"I forgot to mention that Cherie is also with her children," he added in the caption.

Michael related that the place in Bukidnon is just a "memorial" to "remember" Cherie.

Recall that the confusion started after young actor Markus Paterson paid tribute to Cherie.

On Instagram, he uploaded a photo of himself in front of the latter's tomb.

The location is pinned in Tuminugan Farm.

He wrote: "You lived and loved fully. It brings me peace knowing you are dancing in paradise right now. Love you always tita Cherie."
