A janitor and a construction worker were arrested after they yielded P408,000 worth of shabu in an entrapment operation conducted by members of the Las Piñas Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) on Thursday, Sept. 8.
Col. Jaime Santos, city police chief, identified the suspects as Benjo Abo, 34, a janitor; and Jerphy Padilla, 45, a construction worker.
Santos said the suspects were nabbed during the SDEU operation around 3:30 a.m. at Basa Compound, Barangay Zapote, Las Piñas.
He said the cops confiscated from the duo 60 grams of shabu placed in nine transparent sachets, the P500 buy-bust money, and a brown pouch.
The suspects were charged with possession of illegal drugs and are now detained at the police custodial facility.
The confiscated drugs were brought to the Southern Police District (SPD) Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.
