Former Basilan barangay councilor shot dead

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A former barangay councilor was shot to death by gunmen onboard a motorcycle in Lamitan City, Basilan on Thursday, Sept. 8.

The Lamitan police identified the victim as Hadji Jemmy Tubboh Talamon, 59, former councilor of Barangay Lumuton, Lamitan.

Talamon was passing by the Gubawan Bridge on his motorcycle on his way to an elopement settlement in Barangay Sengal, Lamitan at around 11 a.m. when he was killed.

Lamitan police are continuing their investigation on the incident.
