Finally, we have the official unveiling of the new iPhones. Just as the rumors pointed out, there are four new iPhone 14 models: the base iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Plus (which many thought would be called Max), the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus both come with last year’s A15 chip. They include a 6.1-inch display and a massive 6.7-inch display respectively. Both get 12MP cameras, front and back. They also have improved batteries.
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shake things up a little by removing the notch and introduce their “dynamic island” design. The camera and the Face ID are hidden here and also this space will include notifications popping up and moving around.

Unlike the iPhones 14 and 14 Plus, the 14 Pro and Pro Max will carry on with Apple’s more powerful A16 chip. They will also have a 48MP rear camera with a quad-sensor, and always-on display. Like the iPhones 14 and 14 Plus, the Pro and Pro Max have 6.1 and 6.7-inch displays.
Apple also mentioned that they are getting rid of SIM trays, at least in the US, and focus on eSIMs. Here in the Philippines we don’t support that yet. So don’t go buying the new iPhones in the US and taking them home just yet.
The new iPhones will now also include satellite messages. So if you find yourself hiking and lost, you still should be able to send an SOS message to ask for help. This service will be available in the US and Canada, which is a shame. Personally, I feel countries with disaster-prone seasons could maximize this service.
We have no official word yet when the new iPhones will be available in the country. But you can bet the MB TechLab will be racing to get their hands on them soon.
