ILOILO CITY – Police arrested 779 wanted persons in Western Visayas in August.

“This notable accomplishment is an indication of the commitment and dedication of all our tracker teams across the region to capture the remaining wanted persons in the region,” said Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco, Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 chief, on Thursday, Sept. 8.
Among those arrested was Dennis Salvoza Malacad, the No. 1 most wanted person in Western Visayas.
The PRO-6 said 123 arrested were classified as most wanted persons (MWPs) while 656 are other wanted persons (OWPs).
Police said 48 MWPs were arrested in Negros Occidental, Iloilo, 23; Aklan, 14; Capiz, 10; Bacolod City, nine; Antique, eight; and Guimaras, one.
On the other hand, 348 OWPs were taken into custody in Negros Occidental; Iloilo, 107; Bacolod City, 52; Antique, 37; Capiz, 27; Iloilo City, 26; Aklan, 20; and Guimaras, seven.
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-6 arrested four MWPs and 32 OWPs.
“Despite this achievement, our campaign will tirelessly continue without fear or favor in order to serve justice to the victims of these law offenders,” Francisco said.
