College student, driver nabbed in shabu buy-bust in Taguig

The Taguig police arrested a college student and a driver in a buy-bust operation that led to the seizure of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

According to the Taguig police, the buy-bust operation was conducted at a covered court along Road 14, Roldan Street in Barangay New Lower Bicutan at about 9 p.m.

The police identified the arrested suspects as Zenorin Midtimbang, 41, a driver, and Johari Taup, 22, a college student.

The Taguig police’s drug enforcement unit conducted the operation that resulted in the seizure of 29 plastic sachets containing 85 grams of suspected shabu with a total value of P578,000, a bundle of empty transparent plastic sachets, a weighing scale, the P1,000 used as buy-bust money, and the P5,000 used as boodle money.

All the recovered pieces of evidence were turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for quantitative and qualitative examination.

The two suspects are detained at the Taguig police facility and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

SPD acting director Col. Kirby John Kraft commended the Taguig police for the arrest of the suspects.
