Two separate fires hit residential areas in Manila on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 7.

According to the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), the fire on Villafojas St. in Tondo, hit the first alarm at 4:26 p.m.
It was raised to the second alarm at 4:36 p.m.
It was put under control at 5:43 p.m., and declared fire out at 6:43 p.m, as per the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
More or less 39 families were affected by the incident. Eight homes were fully destroyed, and five were partially damaged.
The BFP said the fire originated at the third floor of a three-storey house in the street.

Meanwhile, the other fire broke out at Dagonoy, Barangay 773 in San Andres Bukid.
The fire reached the second alarm at 5:08 p.m., said the DRRMO.
It was put under control by probers at 6:26 p.m.
It was declared fire out at 12:13 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8.
The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation by the BFP.
The number of houses, families affected, and cost of damages are yet to be determined.
