BOGOR CITY, Indonesia—Indonesian President Joko Widodo is hoping that the Philippines' plan to procure an air asset from them will push through.
Widodo on Monday was referring to the NC212i aircraft from Indonesian aircraft manufacturer PT. Dirgantara, which is part of the Philippines' possible purchase of air and sea assets from its neighboring country.
This was bared when President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met with Widodo for his first state visit.

"On intensifying cooperation in infrastructure and strategic industries, a number of Indonesian SOEs (state-owned enterprises) have participated in development programs in the Philippines," he said.
"For instance, the procurement project of two-landing platform dock vessels by PT PAL and railway signaling project in Manila by PT LEN. I hope that the planned purchase of NC212i aircraft from PT. Dirgantara can be realized," he added.
In 2018, the Philippine Air Force (PAF) accepted into service two units of the same aircraft, which were acquired under the Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Program.
The NC212i aircraft can be used to strategically produce artificial rain, maritime patrol and coast guard patrol and for other missions, including passenger and troop transport, immigration control, paratroop dropping, medical evacuation, among others.
