Members of the Philippine National Police in Bulacan (Bulacan PNP) confiscated around P9,720,000 worth of suspected marijuana and apprehended seven drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations in the province on Sunday, Sept. 4.
Col. Charlie A. Cabradilla, acting provincial director of Bulacan PNP, said that Balagtas police operatives were able to seize 81 bricks of dried marijuana leaves weighing 81,000 grams worth around P9,720,000 from suspects Mark Lambert Bhobe of Meycauyan City; and Angelo Llagas of Gaya-Gaya, City of San Jose Del Monte.
The duo were nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Santol, Balagtas, Bulacan at about 2:45 p.m. on Sunday.
The recovered marijuana bricks were wrapped in three sacks.
Five more suspects, identified as Jose Oliver Mercado alias "Doro" of Malipampang, San Ildefonso; Jonathan Villafuerte alias "Badong" of Maasim, San Ildefonso; Gemar Naliatan alias "Amang" of Niugan, Angat; Arnold Zaldy Talastas Jr of Biñang 2nd, Bocaue; and Benjie Agbay of Inaon, Pulilan, were arrested in anti-illegal drugs operations by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Angat, Marilao, Pulilan and San Ildefonso municipal police stations.
A total of 10 sachets of suspected shabu, two sachets of dried marijuana leaves, and the buy-bust money were confiscated during the operations.
All of the arrested suspects and pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit for examination while appropriate criminal complaints against them are now being readied for filing in court.
