Lee Yoo-mi, 'Squid Game' win at 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards: 'I'm so happy'
Netflix’s Korean hit series “Squid Game” won four awards including an acting plum for Lee Yoo-mi (aka Lee You-mi) at the 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
The Television Academy held the second of its 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards that honored outstanding artistic and technical achievement in television at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Korean actress Lee Yoo-mi, who played the role of Ji-yeong and is one of the 456 players who compete in deadly children’s games in “Squid Game,” won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series.
She won against Hope Davis of “Succession,” Marica Gay Harden of “The Morning Show,” Martha Kelly of “Euphoria,” Sanaa Lathan of “Succession” and Harriet Walter of “Succession.”
“Thank you so much for giving me this meaningful award. Thank you so much to Television Academy, director Hwang Dong-hyuk, and our team who worked hard for ‘Squid Game’ and thank you so much to Netflix. Thank you for loving Jiyeong and I will continue to work hard as an actres. And I love the entertainment family so much! I love my parents, younger sister, and grandmother's family. I feel great. I'm so happy!” Lee Yoo-mi posted on Instagram after winning the award.
She attended the awards ceremony and became the first Korean actor to bag an Emmy.
“Squid Game” also won Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Single Episode, Outstanding Stunt Performance and Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Program (One Hour Or More)
At this year’s Emmy Awards, “Squid Game” bagged 14 nominations. The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on Sept. 12.
