The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday, Sept. 5 a total of 17,145 new Covid-19 cases recorded during the past week.

In DOH's weekly bulletin, it mentioned that daily average cases are currently at 2,449 which is 10 percent lower than cases from Aug. 22 to Aug. 28.
The agency also recorded 40 cases tagged under severe and critical infections. Currently, there are 768 severe and critical admissions, or 10.1 percent of total Covid-19 admissions.
On the other hand, there are 595 or 23.5 percent of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds out of 2,529 ICU beds being used while there are 5,974 or 29.3 percent of non-ICU beds being used.
Meanwhile, DOH also recorded 354 additional Covid-19 deaths.
Covid-19 cases
In terms of Covid-19 cases, DOH stated Mindanao is showing signs of plateauing; the Visayas is on a plateau while the rest of the areas are on a slow downward trend.
The number of severe and critical cases is also showing a slow decline.
