Face-to-face classes at the early childhood development and day care centers in Caloocan City started on Monday, Sept. 5.
The local government said that there are around 15,000 children, with ages three to four years old, who enrolled at the 228 early childhood development and day care centers in the city.
According to the Caloocan City Social Welfare Development Department (CCSWDD), parents and guardians can stay to watch their children while doing the activities in the centers. They, howver, should present their Covid-19 vaccination cards
It said that Covid-19 health protocols like wearing of face mask, log book for body temperatures, regular disinfection, and others are also implemented.
There are also thermal scanners, alcohol stands, and hand washing stations placed in the centers.
The city government said the children have three days of in-person classes during the pilot run, with one and a half hour schedules (8-9:30 a.m. and 10-11:30 a.m.). The parents can also opt for their kids to attend online classes.
The city government said that the CCSWDD also has a center-based program implemented in alternative venues (CBPAV) where parents can teach their children at home.
Parents will be taught about the lessons needed to be discussed to the learners twice a week. They will be given a learning plan for the kids.
