P8.4-M aid released to 2,793 distressed students in Negros Occidental
BACOLOD CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Western Visayas released P8,477,000 in educational assistance to 2,793 distressed students in Negros Occidental during its third payout on Saturday, Sept. 3.

The DSWD said 1,498 were college students, 497 were elementary pupils, 406 were high school students, and 392 were senior high school students.
The amount is part of the P32,670,000 in educational assistance given to 11,248 students-in-crisis in the region last Saturday.
Payout was conducted in the cities of San Carlos, Cadiz, Talisay, La Carlota, Kabankalan City, and Bacolod and La Castellana.
The DSWD regional office thanked the local government units for opening its doors for the payout of the educational assistance.
They also thanked the police and other law enforcers for ensuring orderly and peaceful assessment and payout.
