On Thursday, Sept. 29, the DOH conducted vaccination activities for the homeless families in Quezon City.
"Kanina nakapagbakuna ng 52 na mga tao na homeless doon sa ating pinuntahan natin sa Quezon city, mas marami doon sa mga 52 na nabakunahan ay mga senior citizens, ang ating A2 population (Earlier we vaccinated 52 homeless residents in Quezon City, most of them are senior citizens, our A2 population)," she said.
Vergeire thanked Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, the local government and barangay officials in the city for cooperating in the programs with the homeless and vulnerable sectors.
Meanwhile, the local government of Manila said it would continue to organize simultaneous Covid-19 vaccinations in the city's healthcare facilities, mall sites, and barangay covered courts.
A vaccination drive is currently being conducted for market vendors at the corner of Juan Luna and Recto in Tondo, Manila. The LGU said the inoculation started at 6:00 p.m. Friday and will end at 2 a.m. Saturday.
Also under the “moderate risk” classification were the cities of Marikina, Pasig, Taguig, Makati, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, and Pateros
The cities of Malabon, Valenzuela, Caloocan, and Navotas are at low-risk classification.
Meanwhile, Vergeire also reminded the public to be cautious and avoid engaging in activities that would expose them to the virus.
"Andito pa rin po 'yong virus, kasama natin. At alam po natin ang virus kasama na natin sa buong buhay. Because the virus is still here, maaari pa ring tumaas ang mga kaso natin even for the coming weeks (The virus is still here with us. And we know that the virus is with us forever. And because the virus is still here, our cases may still increase even for the coming weeks)," she said.
