Man kills elder brother over land dispute in Quezon

SAN FRANCISCO, Quezon – A man allegedly gunned down his elder brother over a land dispute in Sitio Labrahan, Barangay Don Juan Vercelos, this town, Thursday, Sept. 29.

Officer-on-case Corporal Lloyd Altamarino identified the victim as Michael dela Cruz Yare, 39, of Sitio Labrahan.

Altamirano said the victim and his son, John Paul, were on their way home when the suspect Melencio, 37, appeared and suddenly shot Michael several times in the body.

Melencio fled while Michael was taken to the San Francisco Municipal Hospital where he was declared dead due to bullet wounds.

Police said that possible motive of the killing is a long-standing land dispute.
