ILOILO CITY – Police in Iloilo seized P6.5-million worth of suspected shabu in 71 anti-drug operations from January to August this year.
The Iloilo police Operations and Management Unit said 89 drug suspects were arrested in 42 towns and the component city of Passi.
The Pototan Municipal Police Station had the biggest haul with P2.3-million shabu.
Second was Pavia Municipal Police Station with P1.1 million; Dumangas Municipal Police Station, P582,474; Leganes Municipal Police Station, P564,400; and Santa Barbara Municipal Police Station, P307,884.
“With this accomplishment, we were able to strengthen the fight against illegal drugs in the police station level,” said Col. Adrian Acollador, Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director.
Acollador assured that the IPPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit will continue to provide support to local police stations in terms of manpower, counter-intelligence, and counter-surveillance.
