Village dad shot dead in Batangas

ROSARIO, Batangas – Gunmen onboard a motorcycle shot dead a 50-year-old barangay councilor of Barangay Salao here on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Police said the victim, Ismael Rosales, was having a conversation with a relative in front of a store in Barangay Salao at around 7 a.m. when two men riding a motorcycle arrived.

One of the suspects drew a gun and fired several times at Rosales who died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds.

Suspects escaped toward the direction of Barangay Pinagsabaan here but abandoned their motorcycle when it suffered mechanical trouble.

They commandeered a tricycle and fled on foot upon reaching Barangay Pinagsabaan proper.

Police recovered the getaway motorcycle with license plate 3837 TJ, four fire cartridges cases for a caliber .45 pistol, and a slug.

Lawmen are still determining the suspects and the motive of the murder.
