A lawmaker from Bulacan has requested immediate assistance from the government for her constituency devastated by Super Typhoon Karding.

Bulacan 3rd district Rep. Lorna Silverio filed House Resolution (HR) 439 which urges the national government to provide aid to four municipalities within her district who were struck by Karding.
“The people of the Third District seek urgent assistance as they are in dire need of food and water for sustenance and clothes and housing materials to rebuild their destroyed Houses,” Silverio wrote in her resolution, dated Tuesday, Sept. 27.
Silverio asked that the government “extend a more extensive relief effort targeting the affected residents.”
“On 25 September, 2022, Typhoon Karding hit and brought a widespread devastation to the four Municipalities of the Third District of Bulacan, which endangered not only the lives of numerous families and residents but also their valuables and properties intended for safety and livelihood,” Silverio continued.
“Residents of the four municipalities of San Miguel, San Ildefouso, San Rafael and Dona Remedios Trinidad, fled to available evacuation centers seeking refuge from the strong winds and rainfall hitting the areas,” it said.
It was within Silverio’s district–San Miguel Municipality–that the five heroic rescuers Narciso Calayag, Jerson Resurreccion, Marby Bartolome, George Agustin, and Troy Justin Agustin perished in a flash flood.
