The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday, Sept. 29, visited Quezon City to vaccinate street-dwelling or homeless families and individuals against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
DOH Officer-in-Charge Dr. Maria Rosario Vergeire and Metro Manila Center for Health Development Assistant Regional Director Aleli Annie Grace Sudiacal led the vaccination activity in Scout Santiago Street and other areas in the city.
The DOH said the vaccination was conducted in coordination with the city government, non-government organizations, and partner agencies.
Aside from the Covid-19 inoculation, the DOH also addressed other health concerns of the homeless, such as malnutrition and routine immunization.
Vergiere said the homeless, considered as one of the vulnerable population, should also be protected from diseases.
