Canteen helper stabs live-in partner to death in Laguna

BINAN CITY, Laguna – A 21-year-old canteen helper allegedly stabbed his 18-year-old live-in partner to death and wounded a 14-year-old teenage boy in Barangay Langkiwa here before dawn on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Biñan police identified the fatality as student Rochelle Ann Flores. Lawmen did not identify the minor victim.

Investigation said the suspect, John Dave Bernabe, 21, forcibly entered the house of the victims at about 4 a.m. and looked for Flores.

Bernabe saw Flores and stabbed her multiple times and turned to the boy and stabbed him in the stomach.

Flores died on the way to the Ospital ng Biñan while the boy is under observation in the hospital.

Police found an eight-inch kitchen knife at the crime scene.

Bernabe fled and is now the target of the police manhunt.

Police have yet to find out the motive of the killing.
