45 suspects nabbed, illegal drugs seized in QCPD ops

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Nicolas Torre III announced the arrest of 45 drug suspects and the confiscation of more than P200,000 worth of illegal drugs in several anti-criminality operations conducted on Tuesday, Sept. 27, and Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The QCPD-District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) arrested Joey Magat, 32, the No. 2 drug personality priority target, in a buy-bust operation in his house in Barangay Salvacion, La Loma, Quezon City.

The buy-bust operation at around 2:50 a.m. on Wednesday, led to the confiscation of more or less 20 grams of alleged shabu worth P136,000, the buy-bust money, and a cellphone from the suspect.

Police also said that the QCPD Novaliches (PS 4) and Batasan (PS 6) Stations collared 12 suspects; Galas (PS 11) and Payatas Bagong Silangan Stations (PS 13) arrested four; while Project 6 Station (PS 15) nabbed one suspect.

The QCPD also announced the arrest of 13 wanted persons during the operations.

The La Loma (PS 1) and Pasong Putik (PS 16) Stations arrested two wanted men in their areas on Tuesday, while the PS 15 also served a warrant of arrest for robbery against one suspect who is currently detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Pasig City.

The QCPD said PS 13 and 15, Masambong (PS 2), Talipapa (PS 3), Cubao (PS 7), and Anonas (PS 9) Station arrested six suspects. The Eastwood Station (PS 12) and the District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) also collared four suspects.

Meanwhile, 14 illegal gambling suspects were also arrested by the police.

Police said charges will be filed against the suspects while the courts of origins of the warrants will be notified about the arrest of the wanted persons.

“I would like to commend the ever workaholic and dedicated cops of this police district for this massive notch particularly the arrest of Number 2 District Level Drug Personality Priority Target. This only shows that we are indeed serious in our campaign against all forms of criminality in the city,” the QCPD director said.
