Some 100 relatives of deceased residents in Valenzuela City received financial aid for burial expenses from the office of District 1 Rep. Rexlon "Rex" Gatchalian at the REX Serbisyo Center, Valenzuela Trade Center in the city on Thursday, Sept. 29.
According to the city government, the distribution of the burial assistance is held every Thursday.
It said the program started accepting applications for the aid in May.
The distribution began last August, where P3,000 was given to each qualified applicant.
Meanwhile, the city government also conducts burial assistance under City Ordinance No. 61, Series of 2014, which aims to alleviate the suffering of the families who lost their loved ones.
The city government said residents can visit the city's district office to apply for the burial assistance program.
When applying for the program, residents should bring the requirements which include identification cards (IDs), Barangay Certificate of Indigency, funeral contract, and death certificate.
