Tricycle vs. SUV: British man arrested for hit-and-run in GMA, Cavite

GENERAL MARIANO ALVAREZ, Cavite – A British national was arrested following a hit-and-run incident on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

GMA Municipal Police Station (MPS) identified the suspect as John Anthony Cole.

Investigation showed that Cole was driving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) along Barangay Halang in Biñan, Laguna on his way to GMA, Cavite, when he reportedly hit a tricycle being driven by Ernani Dapuran.

Instead of stopping, Cole left the accident site, prompting Dapuran to chase after him using his tricycle.

Dapuran was able to block Cole along Congressional Road in Barangay Gregoria in GMA.

However, Cole's SUV bumped Dapuran's tricycle again, causing the latter to collide with two other vehicles.

All four vehicles sustained damages from the incident.

Cole is now under the custody of GMA MPS.
