Suspect in Forbes Park shooting arrested

The suspect in the twin murder in Forbes Park, Makati last Sept. 26 has finally been arrested by the police on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

The police identified the suspect as Julius Cortez, security guard and driver of Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp. executive Rose Nono Lin who reportedly rented the Forbes Park residence.

The police report said that Cortez shot and killed his fellow security guards Jay Ar Tomenio and Eugene Sitjar.

According to a witness, Cortez entered the residence drunk and asked for his food from the two victims. He then shot them, killing Sitjar on the spot with a bullet on his head while Tomenio was shot in the waist.

Cortez was tracked down by the police after another security guard disclosed his location to the authorities.

Upon the suspect's arrest, the police recovered a .40 caliber pistol and two magazines loaded with live ammunition.

Cortez is now under police custody while waiting for the necessary charges to be filed against him.
