85 lawbreakers arrested in weeklong police operation in Tarlac


CAMP FRANCISCO S. MACABULOS, Tarlac City -- A total of 85 law violators were arrested by the Tarlac police from Sept. 19 to Sept. 25 this year.

They were arrested for the crimes of murder, double frustrated murder, rape, robbery, qualified theft, less serious physical injuries, adultery, concubinage, acts of lasciviousness in relation to RA 7610.

Some were accused of estafa, unjust vexation, malicious mischief, and violations of RA 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act), RA 9287 (Anti-Illegal Numbers Games), RA 11332 (An Act Providing Policies and Prescribing Procedures on Surveillance and Response to Notifiable Diseases...), PD 1602 (Prescribing Stiffer Penalties on Illegal Gambling), BP 22 (Anti-Bouncing Checks Law), and City Ordinance among others.

Out of 85 persons arrested, 52 have standing warrants of arrest, 14 were nabbed for illegal drugs, four were arrested for illegal gambling, and 15 were arrested during police response.

Fifty-two wanted persons including a provincial and three municipal most wanted persons were arrested during separate manhunt operations conducted by different police stations and Provincial Mobile Force Company .
