P2.6-M worth of humanitarian aid distributed to families in 'Karding'-hit regions

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), local government units, non-government organizations, and other DSWD partners are continuously providing humanitarian aid to families that were affected by the onslaught of typhoon Karding (international name: No-ru).
Based on the report of the DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center, P2.6 million worth of humanitarian assistance was already distributed to the affected areas in Regions 1, 2, 3, 4A, and 5, as of 6 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27.
Typhoon Karding has affected 31,605 families or 122,725 individuals from 1,057 barangays.
There are 8,141 families or 31,354 persons currently staying in 582 evacuation centers, while 2,466 families or 9,887 individuals are staying with relatives or friends.
Moreover, DSWD reported that 27 houses were totally damaged and 655 were partially damaged during the typhoon’s onslaught.
DSWD has over P1.17-billion worth of relief resources, comprising P186.4 million standby funds or quick response fund and P987.5-million worth of stockpiles that are readily available for distribution.
