CA confirms appointment of 63 AFP generals

The powerful bicameral Commission on Appointments (CA) confirmed today Sept. 27 the appointment of 63 generals/flag officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Their confirmation made in today’s plenary session presided by Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, concurrent CA chairman, was recommended by the CA national defense committee chaired by Representative Jurdin Jesus Romualdo.

Gabriel C. Viray was the highest ranked AFP officer confirmed as Major General, followed by Rear Admiral Donn L. Miraflor and Joannis Leonardi B. Dimaano as Major General.

Also confirmed as commodore was Carlo V. Lagasca.

Confirmed as Brigadier Generals were Llewillyn S. Banaag, Vicente Mark Anthony P. Blanco. Francis Marlon S. Wong, Doroteo Jose M. Jalandoni, Romeo Jerome M, Dirilo, Giovanni T. Franza and Jose Demar A. Pauly.

The others were colonels or Navy captains.
