Village dad gunned down in Basilan

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- A barangay councilor was shot dead on Strong Boulevard, Port Area, Isabela City, Basilan on Sunday, Sept. 25.

Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-9 information officer, identified the victim as Kennedy Indal Buhali, 45, councilor of Barangay Tampalan, Malamawi Island, Isabela City.

Chang said Buhali was standing outside his cousin’s eatery when an unidentified man shot him several times.

The victim died on the spot and police recovered four cartridges for a .45 caliber pistol and two slugs at the scene.

Isabela City police are continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind the killing.
