Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday, Sept. 26, assured the public that the government is on “top of situation” in the affected areas in Luzon reeling from Super Typhoon Karding’s wrath.

In a statement, Duterte said the national agencies and local government units (LGUs) have been in coordination so that they can provide quick disaster response.
“The administration of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. is on top of the situation — with coordination between concerned national agencies and local government units done to ensure immediate response and efficient delivery of relief services to the people affected by Karding,” she said.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported five people died, while six others are missing due to Karding, as of Monday afternoon.
Bulacan, Quezon, and Nueva Ecija are the hardest-hit areas, with thousands of families had to be evacuated to safer grounds because their homes were inundated with flood water.

The Vice President condoled with the typhoon victims after Karding’s onslaught. Duterte extended her condolences while she is in Tokyo to represent Marcos in the state funeral for former prime minister Shinzo Abe.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the people affected by Typhoon Karding in Luzon,” Duterte said.
“May I also offer my deepest condolences to the families of those who died during the onslaught of the typhoon,” she added.
