The first thing that you will notice when you hold the new Fujitsu UH-X, read as U-H Ten, is that it is super lightweight. In fact, when we received the package here at the Manila Bulletin Tech News office, we thought that it was just an empty box. Naturally, we got really intrigued about it. Some even said that it might contain a few product brochures. So when we unboxed it, we were surprised that there is in fact a laptop inside and it is almost as light as a feather.

This ultra lightweight laptop from Fujistsu, weighing only 878g, was made by a Takumi from development to design. Now, if I remember correctly, when you say “Takumi” in Japanese, it means that you are a master craftsman who had years or even decades of experience. This is why since day one of testing out the UH-X we can’t help but compare it with almost every laptop we see around the office. Because we know that most of the time carrying a laptop around, especially while commuting is such a torture!

The Fujitsu UH-X also has a distinct texture that you won't normally feel when holding a laptop. It is nice to touch but doesn't feel slippery-smooth that you feel like it will slide off your grip any moment.

Apart from cool texture and lightweight body, it is also rugged as it complies with the U.S. Defense’s Procurement Standards (MIL-STD-810H). This means that it is certified to withstand diverse environments including extreme high and low temperature and various drop tests.

Despite the UH-X being lightweight and thin, it still has an impressive line up of ports for various connectivity options: 2 Type C ports, 2 Type A ports, HDMI port, audio jack, LAN port and SD Card. It is rare to have these ports present and for sure users will appreciate this most especially when you need to connect more than one device at the same time.

Within its lightweight body is a 64Wh battery that can give you a about 12.3 hours of power that is perfect for a full day of work. Charging the UH-X is also not a hassle as it can give you 50% juice in just 30 minutes. This means you are free from electric outlets most of the time!

The Keyboard has this slight concave shape that naturally align with your fingers to help lessen mistyping words. It also has a stair-step shape to give you a little distinction which row your fingers are thus giving you a more accurate typing experience. For fast typers out there, the UH-X can also detect which button you are pressing even if you have not fully pressed it.

For privacy and security, the Fujitsu UH-X’s power button doubles as a fingerprint sensor to keep unwanted users away from your laptop. Apart from this, to keep away from online peeping Toms, you can close the wecam with the shutter button. This also can be useful especially when you are not yet ready to go on-cam during online meetings.

Speaking of online meetings, an AI engine works to eliminate noise around you. This for sure will be useful especially when there are so much noise in your location such as dog barks and rooster crows.

In summary, the Fujitsu UH-X sets the trend on how a laptop should be: 1. Lightweight, so that the laptop can truly be a portable computer, 2. Impressive battery life that lasts long and charges fast, 3. Sturdy, rugged enough to go with your wherever you need to go, and 4. Has enough processing power for all the tasks you are doing at the same time. With these features, it sets the trend on how a laptop should be. Honestly, if I saw this laptop a few months earlier, I might have bought this one for myself.

The Fujitsu UH-X is available in dignified black & silver white variants with three year edition of Mcafee live safe. It is available exclusively at Complink, Gigahertz, Silicon Valley, with SRP of Php74,999 (i7 model) and Php64,999 (i5 model).
