#WalangPasok: Classes, work suspended due to 'Karding'

Classes and work in various schools, colleges, and universities have been cancelled on Monday, Sept. 26, due to Super Typhoon “Karding.”

As early as Sunday, Sept. 25, the hashtag “WalangPasok” trended on Twitter as schools, universities and colleges announced through their official accounts the suspension of classes and work due to the inclement weather brought by super typhoon Karding.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that "Karding" made its first landfall in the vicinity of Burdeos, Quezon at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 25.

Here are the schools that have announced the suspension of classes (online and onsite) and work:

- University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman, Manila, Los Baños, and Baguio
- Ateneo de Manila University (all levels on all campuses)
- Lyceum of the Philippines University (Manila)
- Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
- San Beda University
- De La Salle University (Manila, Dasmariñas)
- National Teachers College
- Philippine Women’s University
- Far Eastern University
- Colegio de San Juan de Letran
- De La Salle College of Saint Benilde
- FEATI University
- Adamson University

Various local government units have also announced the cancellation of classes at all levels for public and private schools including Aurora, Batangas, Bulacan, Guiguinto, Malolos City, Camarines Norte, Cavite, Dasmariñas, Silang, Tagaytay City, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Quezon, Rizal, Tarlac City, and Zambales.

In the National Capital Region (NCR), classes at all levels in public and private schools have been suspended in Caloocan City, City of Manila, Las Piñas City, Malabon City, Mandaluyong City, Marikina City, Muntinlupa City, Navotas City, Pasay City, Pasig City, Parañaque City, Pateros, Quezon City, San Juan City, and Taguig City.
