Pedestrian fatally struck by SUV in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY – A 66-year-old man died after he was hit by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) on the Circumferential Road in Barangay Villamonte here on Friday, Sept. 23.

Corporal Aaron Priolo, traffic investigator of Police Station 4, said the SUV driver failed to notice the victim Sim Ballares of Barangay Villamonte crossing the street as he was covered by a truck.

Priolo said the SUV driver tried to avoid the victim but he failed and struck Ballares who died on the spot.

Police said there was already an initial settlement between the SUV driver and the victim's family.
