Drunk man dies after stepfather bashes head with steel pipe in Pangasinan

SAN FABIAN, Pangasinan – A 24-year-old man died after he was allegedly struck in the head with a steel pipe by his stepfather in Barangay Longos Central here on Thursday, Sept. 22.

Police said the victim, Gelmar Rebosa, 24, was drunk and had a verbal altercation with the suspect, Teofilo Padilla, 74, at their house after an old grudge was brought up.

Rebosa tried to punch Padilla but the suspect picked up a steel pipe and hit the victim several times in the head.

The victim was taken by his relatives to the Region I Medical Center Annex in Dagupan City but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Police arrested the suspect and recovered the murder weapon. Padilla is detained at the police station here.
